MEMORIES REVISITED

Eight decades of wisdom, clarity and lessons learned as a Black woman in America.

“As we age, our memories take on a special significance. You can access them and they comfort us in times of sadness. In times of happiness, we can share them and they bring us and others joy. Memories never die. The people you love may pass on, but the memories they leave are indelible.”

IndigenousWays Wisdom Circle with Dr. Zelema Harris

Dr. Zelema Harris shared her infinite wisdom earned through her life of weaving context; family, education, cultural awareness, etc. in and out of multi-cultural and mainstream environments. She emphasized her point in acclimating and intuitively knowing how to ‘ebb and flow’ in higher educational realm(s) as a black woman, particularly as President of universities. Zelema’s message emphasized the importance of family, culture and community. She stated a few times over that she does nothing for individual purposes, but rather has always focused on goals as a collective as it has lasting effects and can be carried on... IndigenousWays Wisdom Circle with Dr Zelema Harris

Dr. Zelema Harris is a true historian of the Civil Rights Movement. Dr. Z earned her title on so many levels and walks with truth, courage, and grace. We could have listened to Dr. Z all night long with her wealth of information on her walk to be there for the disenfranchised. She touched on allies, education, justice, and family and so much more with such dignity. “If you’re courageous and know where you’re headed, you have a vision...” She spoke about anger and anxiety and its place in her life to get what needs to be done, done. Dr. Z’s message for women (and all others) will continue to underscore the need to be true to yourself and have a clear vision and healthy boundaries, and with this, the right people will show up to do the work as a collective. https://www.zelemaharris.com IndigenousWays is dedicated to bridging cultural exchange with people globally, we do this by promoting living in balance for diverse communities through music, arts, outreach and events.
